This Limited Lifetime Warranty reflects Shadecort's dedication to long-term customer satisfaction, covering manufacturing integrity and functional reliability when products are properly specified, installed, and used under normal conditions.
WARRANTY COVERAGE
Shadecort window treatment products are warranted to be free from original defects in materials or workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the product, unless otherwise noted below. This warranty applies provided the product has been correctly measured, installed, and maintained according to Shadecort guidelines.
The warranty covers the following components:
- All internal operating mechanisms, structural components, and mounting brackets
For a period of three (3) years from the original date of purchase:
- Operating cords
- Pleated shades without looped tape
- 2-inch horizontal vinyl blind slats
- Vertical blind vanes
For a period of five (5) years from the original date of purchase:
- Motorization components and accessories, excluding batteries
- Draperies
- Fabric-covered cornices and valances
- Soft shades and related accessories
- Exterior solar shades, provided they are fully raised during severe weather or high-wind conditions
Note: Repairs or replacements under this warranty will be made using like or similar parts at Shadecort's discretion.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED
This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear resulting from everyday use
- Damage caused by abuse, accidents, improper handling, unauthorized modifications, or misuse
- Failure to follow Shadecort instructions for measurement, installation, operation, cleaning, or maintenance
- Discoloration, fading, cracking, shrinking, or stretching caused by prolonged exposure to direct sunlight
- Natural variations in color, grain, texture, or weave inherent to wood, fabric, or other natural materials
- Minor warpage of wood blinds or shutters; excessive warpage caused by high humidity or environmental conditions
- Shipping, labor, or service costs associated with product removal, re-measurement, or re-installation
- Unfinished cornices, valances, or decorative shelves
- Fabric supplied under "Customer's Own Material" orders
HOW TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE
To initiate a warranty claim, you must provide the original proof of purchase along with detailed information regarding the issue, including product type, installation location, and nature of the defect.

Important: Please note that Shadecort may defer action on any warranty claim related to wood warping for a period of up to twelve (12) months from the date the claim is submitted. This allows sufficient time for the product to acclimate to environmental conditions such as humidity and temperature before a final determination is made.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Shadecort's obligations under this warranty are limited solely to the repair or replacement of defective parts or products. The determination of whether a product will be repaired or replaced rests entirely at Shadecort's discretion.
This warranty is exclusive and replaces all other written or oral warranties. Any implied warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the applicable warranty period stated above.
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on incidental or consequential damages, so certain limitations may not apply in all regions.
No distributor, dealer, installer, or other party is authorized to modify, extend, or alter this warranty in any manner.
